Suffering from depression myself - I felt like Depression Quest was almost therapeutic. It hits you right in the “feels”, and there will be alot of stuff to relate to. The story is so well written that you can easily recognize yourself and your thinking-pattern as a depressive person.
If you’re not suffering from the illness; it’s a great game to learn you about how it looks inside the depressive’s head. Please try to avoid thinking that the person in the story is being too dramatic, sensitive or negative. Remember that this is the depressive’s reality. Depression is a real illness with real symptoms. It is not something you can “snap out of” by “pulling yourself together”.
The game can be very emotional and triggering, so play with caution. And if you’re feeling suicidal - please, talk to someone.
